Only One Week Left to Enter Your Business to win $110K Prize Package

Startup St. Bernard presented by the Meraux Foundation and the St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation

St. Bernard Parish, LA (Jan. 9, 2017) -- Entrepreneurs have until midnight on January 14, 2017 to submit their business ideas to the Startup St. Bernard competition for a chance to win a $110,000 prize package designed to propel their business to the next level.

The Meraux Foundation and St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation invite entrepreneurs to apply for a chance to pitch their business to a panel of judges in St. Bernard Parish during New Orleans Entrepreneur Week on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Meraux Foundation’s Docville Farm.

St. Bernard Parish is a land of opportunity for businesses, especially startups. While just minutes away from downtown New Orleans, land, labor, and costs of doing business are low — and the business support network is robust. The challenge is being organized by the Meraux Foundation, the St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation and The Idea Village™.  More information can be found by visiting www.startupstbernard.com

The Startup St. Bernard Challenge is open to any business that meets the following criteria:

  • Must agree to locate base of operations to St. Bernard Parish for minimum two years
  • Must generate less than $1,000,000 in revenue
  • Must have fewer than five employees
  • Must be a for profit entity
  • Interested in positively impacting St. Bernard Parish

Startup St. Bernard has one of the largest prize packages of startup competitions due to the support and partnership with our regional businesses.  Businesses interested in sponsoring the 2017 Startup St. Bernard Challenge are encouraged to contact SBEDF at contact@sbedf.org
